Menace 12. Modules 23 and 24. Discipline and Classroom Management.
Put simply, discipline generally means regulating or controlling behavior in order to achieve something. And, classroom management refers to creating a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment. Discipline is necessary, individually and collectively, in order to manage a classroom.
Educators and students alike should be able to put their mind and heart into their class in order to be fully present and reach full potential. They must be able to foster emotional intelligence and a growth mindset in- and out-side of the classroom. In the case that disciplinary or classroom management issues arise, time and attention are taken away from the essence of the class and could possibly hinder relationships among students and/or students and the educator, therefore creating an uncomfortable learning environment, which in turn may result in less productiveness.
Discipline and classroom management are essential aspects of effective education.
